Scott's Goals

1. Reconnect officers with their roots as public servants.

Law enforcement officers have a tough job. As crime trends rise, and violence becomes more commonplace, law enforcement officers need to maintain a constant vigilance for their own personal safety and the safety of the public. Balancing this with the need to earn the respect of the public at large, and acting more as public servants is challenging at times; but, common sense should always be paramount. As your Sheriff, I will work to reconnect law enforcement officers with their roots as public servants.

2. Search for innovative ways to do more with less.

Businesses and governments across the nation are struggling to balance budgets and deal with falling revenues. Although we are all hopeful that the economy will improve, we must plan to do more with less. As your Sheriff, I will use my experience in business and government budgeting to plan for troubled financial times and train and inspire law enforcement to do more with less.

3. Continue to improve the Hamilton County Sheriff’s Office and enhance agency cooperation.

I am proud to currently serve the Hamilton County Sheriff's Office.  I am always impressed by the professionalism and dedication of the men and women who work there. However, I believe my unique combination of experiences in law enforcement, business, and the military will help me guide the Sheriff's Department to an even greater level of efficiency, professionalism, and success.  As your Sheriff, I will work to improve interaction among all local and federal agencies within Hamilton County and the surrounding counties, and continue to foster a spirit of cooperation within the community.

I hope you will allow me to work for you as your Sheriff to accomplish these goals, and many more, in the years to come.
